STRENGTHEN YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM

The thymus gland, located about 2 inches below the collarbone in the middle of the chest, distinguishes cells as friend or foe and exports T-cells to destroy foreign cells. The thymus helps fight infection and disease and is one of the first organs to be impacted by stress. Under stress, ignoring the body’s needs can become a habit and weaken the immune system.

Tips for keeping the immune system and you healthy include:

THE THYMUS THUMP

Place your fingertips or fist over the thymus area1 and begin strong, steady thumping three times a day to:

  • Stimulate all of your energies
  • Boost your immune system
  • Increase your strength & vitality
SMILE, SMILE, SMILE!

Dr. Diamond2 points out that the smile muscle, the zygomaticus major, is directly connected to the thymus gland.

  • Smile as often as you can and light up your thymus!
  • Create your own personal “loving thought” that warms your heart and bring this imaginary sensation into your body, mind and spirit during the day to counter stress.
  • Walking blends right & left hemispheres of the brain and is the easiest exercise to do everyday to maintain weight and release toxins from the lymphatic system. Actually, there is more lymph in the body than blood and the only way to discharge toxins from the lymphatic system is by moving the body! Enjoy nature and welcome the season!
